Spectre 3D Iphone Game Review

Those unfamiliar with Spectre and what it is all about I will explain. You drive a vector tank around maps packed with obstacles and enemies you need to both kill and avoid to collect all the flags scattered around. Watch the gameplay video below to fully to see whats its all about. 

=The gameplay is exactly the same as I remember with the the red enemy triangles and dark retro maps. The way you even begin a level is parallel to how I remember it on the Mac however I did turn on Retro Level Captions before playing with the standard settings. The game still has power ups and and loads of obstacles which you can be stuck by while enemies spam you with their attacks.

The sound brought me a huge ray of nostalgia, with the shooting of your weapon to when you hit the edge of the map and even when each level begins and your tank is thrown into the game and it is all done to a top quality. The only part I see missing which I am sure was in the Mac version is when a women says ‘entering cyber land’ or something to that nature at the beginning of a level but thats just me nit picking. 

The graphics are again just as I remember with the dark Tron world but I think the developer has spruced the graphics up quite a bit. With new backgrounds in the distance which I don’t think were in the mac version. The graphics overall just seem crisper and more detailed but that may have a lot to do with the iPhone and iPod Touch being a lot more powerful than my old Macintosh.

A very unique aspect of the game which I haven’t seen within any other game on the App Store is the ability to have 3D as an option obviously with those funny glasses of course. Thats something I haven’t yet tried so I cant say whether it works or not.

The controls are very straight forward which surprised me because Spectre wasn’t designed for a 3.5 inch display but the developer has made it work as if the game was developed natively for the device to begin with. You drive your tank around with a virtual analogue stick on the button left of the screen and fire with button across on the other side on the right simple.

Overall the game is a definite purchase for players who enjoyed playing it on their Macs back in the day. Anyone who likes what they see in the gameplay video below go on the App Store take a look.

With this tool, the slope can be measured by all edges of the device in every direction. When the device is put flat on the table a bubble view will fade in. This current features include:

• Fullscreen Mode: The full screen mode can be toggled by tapping the center of the screen and by the upper and lower arrows in the center. This prevents you from erroneous inputs while measuring and provides a nice demo mode.

• Advanced two way calibration on all sides: For every 4 sides plus the bubble mode you can calibrate in two steps, which allows you to calibrate exactly even on non-level surfaces. Each direction can be calibrated individually to achieve the optimal precision.

• Display of different precisions and units: The device can display the slope in degrees, percentage and rise over run (last to from zero to infinity – for the approximation to 90°) with two precision setups if applicable.

• Dial Rotation: You can smoothly rotate the background dial and thus define which side of the device represents 0° and 90°.

• Different colors: Press the S/C Button to instantly switch the color. The color can be selected differently for the bubble and the clinometer mode. The predefined color sets include day and night color schemes (Black on White, White on Black and Red).

• Motion-sensitive Lock feature: Besides the common instant simple tap hold mechanism you can activate the motion-sensitive lock. If activated the device waits for the final lock until you hold your device steady enough for at least 2 seconds. You can set the tolerance between 0.1 and 1.0 degrees.

• Adjustable Auto-Lock: Prevent the device from turning into the sleep mode.

• Peer Mode: Use two devices to measure angles: One as a display, the other as the measurement device that can be attached to the hardware you want to align.

According to wikipedia: An inclinometer or clinometer is an instrument for measuring angles of slope (or tilt), elevation or inclination of an object with respect to gravity. It is also known as a tilt meter, tilt indicator, slope alert, slope gauge, gradient meter, gradiometer, level gauge, level meter, declinometer, and pitch & roll indicator.

For recreational use only. After the calibration it CAN (!) be very accurate especially for the main axis after calibration. The measurement is performed as well as possible (we try our best) by using the three inbuilt accelerometers.

Ibomber 2 Iphone Game Review

For those who have never played iBomber One the concept is simple. You as a player are flying a plane which has a birds eye view of the ground below, this is a destructible world where you fire bombs upon. The guys below are tanks, missiles and enemy HQ’s and most of them try taking your plane down by firing at it. Your mission is to blow up the target amount of enemy infrastructure allocated, so you may be asked to bomb away four anti air units and a tank once done you proceed to the next mission. 

The first noticeable difference about iBomber 2 over the first version is the graphics. The first game had very pleas able cartoony looking graphics but this builds upon that. The detail amongst buildings and terrain is very smooth looking without a jagged pixel in sight. The colours all seen a lot more vibrant now with more depth in contrast and brightness.

iBomber 2 features a whole new array of weapons which you still pick up from totaled buildings such as smoke markers and carpet bombs and you can also call in artillery strikes. All of the old weapons from the first game are still here as well. The defense system in iBomber 2 has changed for the better with two fighter escort planes flying each side of your plane taking most of the damage for you, obtaining this is the same as weapons. This I found very useful in areas covered with highly destructive enemies. 

The controls are identical to the first but their is a lot more customisation to be had which is never a bad thing usually. Cobra Mobile have also included an alternative control scheme where you touch the radar in the direction you want to fly in. A control scheme that makes the game unplayable but the original tilt controls are spot on and feel very natural when used. Tilting further away from you the faster the plane and tilting closer towards you slower the plane same goes for turning left and right. Slower the more precision you have when dropping bombs but when going fast you may find it hard to get your target spot on. Their is only one on screen button which is the bombs away button and to collect shields and different bombs from the rubble you just tap on them and they are delivered to your inventory leaving you to use a weapon once you want which wasn’t seen within the first game.

The music within the game is very epic feeling a lot like N.O.V.A. The music is created to a great high production quality and goes hand in hand with the game. The actual sound effects help you adapt to the environment very quickly making you more amerced within the game which isn’t found in many iPhone and iPad titles at this price.

Overall the game was most enjoyable and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a budget arcade blaster to defiantly check out. Don’t be worried that you haven’t played iBomber one because their is nothing you will get from that which you won’t get from this.

How to ude it?

1. After Launching the application you will see only one empty folder: Family.
2. Tap the top left Button to load all Photos and Videos into the app.
3. Now you hav a long list of all your photos and videos in the App.
4. You can use this button again and again to refresh the list.
5. Create new folders be tapping the top right button.

Now, you can tap the Tools button located on every Photo and use one of the option to:
‘Rename Photo/Folder name’ to rename the current Photo Vodeo or folder.
‘Edit Photo/Folder Description’ to add a description to the current Photo Vodeo or folder..
‘Delete Folder’ will delete the current folder, but the photos will not be deleted, they will go back to the root.
‘Change Folder Location’ to change the current Photo Vodeo or folder’s location. This will open a navigation tool to select the desired location.

You can create a sub folder under every folder you have been created.

When selecting the ‘Photos by Date’ Tab item, you will get all your Photos and Videos grouped by the date taken. You can modify the headers to give them a reasonable name instead of the date.

Setting slide shows:
Back to the Album folders, you can collect photos for the slide shows you wand to create. Just check-on the checkbox on each photo you want to include and than pap on the Create Slide show icon on the top-right corner and give it a name.
