i-Gouged (Rogers iPhone Global BC News tv spot)

The iphone is coming to Canada, all’s not well in the Great White North. Some of the crew of iphoneincanada.ca get to express their views. The petition they were talking about is at http and there’s another one at www.petitiononline.com For the record, yes, I’m the guy with the t-shirt and the “geek belt”. Some info we talked about in the interviews that didn’t make the story: Paying extra $15-20 for Call display and evenings that start before 9 PM 3 year contract is the longest in the world There’s *no* unlimited option at all, no matter how much you’re willing to pay The new iphone uses an unknown (but apparently high) amount of data just for background stuff. Those AT&T minutes are “nationwide” minutes. Etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Still, I think they did a good job of warning people to do research.

I love Apple. I want an iPhone but it is not worth the fucking crap we get from Rogers and Fido. (Fido was sadly bought by Rogers)

Fuck Fido and Rogers! Boycot the iPhon tell the other company’s get it in their skulls that Rogers and Fido are ripping us all off! I’m sick of the over pricing!

  3. Dynysia030 Says:

  5. 69Bluntsmoka420 Says:

Q: Why does Rogers charge system access and 911 fees?

    A: Price gouging.

Q: Why do Canadians have to pay for features that American telecom companies give their customers at no charge?

A: Because Rogers can get away with it.

  6. czaky9520 Says:

dude i pay like 36 a month not bad. and telus and bell will take money from u when u didnt even go over your min.

  7. froobcity Says:

i just bought mine before it came here online for alot cheaper.

  8. iphonemaster1928 Says:

Rogers plan of the iphone is good than AT&T. AT&T has 2 years contract while Rogers has 3 Years contract. So I rather have a Rogers iphone than the AT&T iphone

Don’t forget that the U.S has FREE LONG DISTANCE. You travel 20mins down the road in Canada and you pay long distance.

  16. Alexhutchinson83 Says:

    Yep

  17. ReeferSutherland Says:

    Fuck you Ted.

  18. tix4leafs Says:

Comparing the data plan of (limited) HSPA vs (unlimited) edge is apples and oranges.

With unlimited edge downloads, you would be luck to reach 2-3 gigs in a month, while with HSPA, you could hit that in a couple of hours.

So start understanding the technology before slamming a business for their offerings.

Also, the prices would likely be lower, if Apple wasn’t taking their cut too!

  19. ryns72 Says:

Rogers owns Fido. Exact same plans and rates? did you compare the plans?

  20. craziiness1122 Says:

    STUPID ROGERS!!
    >:(

  21. Kanwar15 Says:

Fido also gets a share of the IPhone in Canada.

Great prices too!! No rip off. Great deals and there selling Iphone for $199 for 8Gb and $299 for 16Gb.

    Yeah Go Fido!!

  22. FireOFK Says:

Rogers is all about rip off and no one is doing anything about it the charge whatever price they like. infact rogers has the highest prices in the WORLDDDDDDDDDD. mother fuckers. DO NOT BUY anything from rogers

  23. canadaleksei Says:

So true in Rogers ur just paying overTOOOOOMUCH!!!!

  24. saini417 Says:

Roger are selling iphone 3g for $584.92 with 3 year contract. Thats the biggest ripp off. i hate Rogers for doing that. This is so outrageous and it is almost immposible to afford these prices,as the economy is so down. Rogers better so something about this

  25. EROJNKLSD Says:

Rogers SUCKS, and all those scammers witch betrayed rest of us signing with ROGERS : SHAME ON YOU, YOU ARE NOT PART OF CANADIAN UNITY!

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  27. Agnus Scaturro Says:

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  33. frank kern mass control blog Says:

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

The potential owner will have some bargaining power where they could buy the home for a much cheaper price than the original cost, but if the bank rejects it, then the potential buyer, will need to make sure that they can afford the original price.
